I am a dual MBA/MPH degree student and am looking forward to spending my second year focused on healthcare at Tuck. I am passionate about improving the quality and decreasing the cost of healthcare, and spent my summer internship at UW Medicine in Seattle working as an internal process improvement consultant. I had two main projects during my 6 week internship. The first was developing a dashboard for the Labor & Delivery unit to help managers understand nurse staffing levels and help manage staffing costs. The second was analyzing post discharge follow up calls for patients who were readmitted within 30 days to help identify trends and possible risk indicators for readmission, as part of the large, system wide Readmissions Workgroup.
Before coming to Dartmouth, I spent 2 years working at Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield developing financial systems to support pay for performance contracts with providers. Prior to that, I spent almost 3 years as a consultant working in business process development. After graduation, I am hoping to return to Seattle and work in a large hospital system in process improvement, strategy or an administrative role.
